By 1geek4h!reOkay so I’m going to throw this question out there, and to be honest I’m not expecting a lot of feedback. Let’s just say curiosity got the cat.
So what I'm looking to find out is how many Linux users are out there, and what is your favorite Linux distro?
As your soon about to find out, I'm a big fan of fedora, and I don't think you can be a Linux user without having spent time playing with Ubuntu however I do prefer Ubuntu Studio.
I’ve been using Linux for a number of years at home and work, and find myself checking back often to see what improvements have been made to the latest distributions. I am a constant user of fedora and Ubuntu Studio finding myself taking full advantage of the features they offers, however the stability can be an issue at times, where Ubuntu 12, Linix Mint, or openSUSE seem to be far more stable.
When working in a full Linux environment, I find myself using such programs as virtual box, virtual machines or taking advantage of dual partitions, and unfortunately still relying on Windows, Mac, and even my cell phone to get the job done.
So is there something I’m doing wrong?
Or does it have something to do with the constant updates and improvements in the open source environments. I'm not complaining, I'm just looking for a distribution that has the features I like, without having to rely on my knowledge and skills to work around the issues I constantly encounter. All I'm looking to do is get the job done, not update and fix issues.
So back to my original question, and I’m not looking for the technical answers that I use Linux everyday my scanner at work, or smart phone, or it’s in my Sony e-reader that I cracked and now can play Angry Bird on. I just want to know if you’re using Linux, why? And what is your favorite distribution of Linux to use. Well I guess if you have the time, pros and cons wouldn’t hurt either.
